Below is a list of most of the ingredients used in our products and a little information about them.

Milk soaps are very rich and moisturizing and can be used on your face and body daily. My most commonly used skin care ingredients are the ones best suited for delicate skin types!

Activated Charcoal effectively cleanses the skin, unclogs pores, removes deeper impurities, and dead skin cells. It can draw out toxins from your skin and reduces the oil build up that leads to breakouts. The result is smooth, supple, and even-toned skin.

Alkanet Root Powder is a natural, plant based colorant used for centuries.

Aloe Oil is an infused botanical oil that is made by steeping aloe leaves in a carrier oil. This allows for a broader use of aloe, great on sunburns and dry skin, in oil based products.

Aloe Vera Gel calms irritation and provides intense moisture.

Argan Oil is a nutrient rich, plant based oil that is rich in vitamin E and essential fatty acids. It helps to nourish and hydrate skin and hair without leaving a greasy residue.

Avocado Butter is rich in vitamins and antioxidants, and nourishes and strengthens hair and skin.

Avocado Oil is healing and moisturizing. It contains protein amino acids, and vitamins A, D, and E, and is particularly good for sensitive skin.

Baking Soda (Sodium Bicarbonate) is a natural ingredient that helps cleanse and soothe when used in small amounts. It also gently exfoliates and softens the skin, sourced from natural mineral deposits.

Beer is known to soften skin, reduce redness, and naturally exfoliate, ultimately helping restore your skin’s natural oils.

Beeswax forms a protective barrier on the skin, locking in moisture and shielding your skin from environmental stressors. Its natural antibacterial properties help to keep the skin clean and promote healing, making it an essential ingredient for skin protection and repair.

Bentonite Clay lightens acne scars and tightens skin, leaving you with a refreshed appearance.

Black Sesame Seeds are full of antioxidants and essential fatty acids. They are great for repairing the skin’s moisture barrier, while providing zinc and copper for natural collagen production and brighter skin.

Borax (Sodium Tetracarbonate) is a naturally occurring mineral that, when used in our laundry powder, softens hard water and breaks down stains.

BTMS-50 is a rapeseed oil based emulsifier that helps soften and condition hair.

Candelilla Wax is another plant based wax that is used to maintain the solidity and structure of some of our products while keeping its texture smooth.

Castor Oil acts as a humectant. It attracts moisture to your skin and actually helps keep it there.

Cetyl Alcohol is a plant derived alcohol that makes our shampoo and conditioner bars smoother and silkier.

Citric Acid is derived from citrus fruits. This powerhouse ingredient provides gentle exfoliation and a fun, effervescent fizz for our bath bombs and shower steamers specifically. It also brightens and revitalizes the complexion.

Cocoa Butter also moisturizes and lays down a protective layer to help retain your skin's softness.

Coconut Oil gives you the hard soap bar and rich fluffy lather that makes your bath time luxurious.

Coffee & Coffee Grounds have lots of benefits including reports of helping with cellulite reduction, anti-aging affects, acne, as well as calming exfoliation effects.

Cornstarch is added to absorb excess moisture on the skin, specifically in our deodorant bar.

Cream of Tartar is a natural, gentle exfoliant and helps to balance the skin’s pH.

Cyclomethicone - Although seeing a silicone ingredient may seem uncomfortable at first, this ingredient is added to our shampoo and conditioner bars because it has been shown to add shine, silkiness, and frizz protection to hair. It adds protection against moisture loss without leaving hair feeling heavy. Cyclomethicone evaporates quickly from the skin after application which makes it distinct from other silicones, as it provides temporary lubrication without leaving a greasy residue. While we only use cyclomethicone in our shampoo and conditioner bars, it is a common ingredient in most leave-in conditioners, serums, and styling sprays.

Dimenthicone - Although seeing a silicone ingredient may seem uncomfortable at first, this ingredient is added to our shampoo and conditioner bars because it has been shown to add shine, silkiness, and frizz protection to hair. It adds protection against moisture loss without leaving hair feeling heavy. Dimethicone serves as a protective topical barrier as it does not soak into the skin, therefore locking in moisture and shielding against irritants without clogging pores. While we only use dimenthicone in our shampoo and conditioner bars, it is often found in many daily moisturizers, balms, anti-aging creams, and makeup products.

Emulsifying Wax is a plant derived emulsifier that helps blend together the oils and other conditioning ingredients into a strong and stable bar.

Essential Oils enhance your sensory experience and provide many health benefits that vary depending on which plant extract is being used. We commonly use lavender, rosemary, tea tree and lemongrass, which all provide aromatherapy and body benefitting properties. Many essential oils can reduce stress and promote relaxation, boost energy and mood, soothe congestion or headaches, and even provide natural antiseptic and antibacterial properties for treating mild acne or insect bites.

Fragrance Oils enhance your sensory experience with a delightful aroma added to many of our products.

Ginger rejuvenates your skin, flushing out toxins and evening your skin tone. It is also a powerful and natural cleanser.

Goat Milk & Goat Milk Powder is a natural skincare secret! Rich in lactic acid, it gently exfoliates while delivering intense hydration for soft, glowing skin. Goat milk powder also hydrates and soothes, and it is sourced from our own pure goat milk at Spencer Farm!

Honey is deeply moisturizing and hydrates your skin.

Hyaluronic Acid delivers deep hydration and plumps the skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines.

Hydrolyzed Silk improves skin texture and retains moisture for a silky smooth finish.

Hydrolyzed Oat Protein is a natural protein that is added to soothe skin and add shine and body to your hair.

Hydrosol provides soothing hydration and balances skin's pH levels.

Jojoba Oil acts as a humectant. It attracts moisture to your skin and actually helps keep it there. It mimics skin's natural oils for long-lasting hydration without clogging pores.

Kaolin Clay has been used for centuries to absorb excess oil from the skin, preventing breakouts before they begin. It is a silky, mineral-rich clay that gently detoxifies, and leaves your skin feeling soft and refreshed. It is harvested from naturally occurring clay deposits.

Luffa is a plant in the gourd family whose inner fiber is used for exfoliation. It requires processing and drying, but the end result is a naturally occurring sponge that is completely plastic-free.

Magnesium Chloride is a highly effective topical muscle relaxant. Used in our magnesium lotion, it is great for assisting in muscle contraction and relaxation, reducing spasms and cramps.

Magnesium Hydroxide is a natural odor fighting compound that is gentler on skin than baking soda alternatives.

MCT Oil can help prevent bacteria and skin infections such as yeast infections, etc. As well as a great moisturizer!

Menthol Crystals are a powerful natural decongestant and cooling agent. We use them in our shower steamers to provide respiratory relief and a calming sensation to your shower experience.

Mica has properties that help the skin look smooth and healthy. It also is a natural colorant used in some of our products.

Olive Oil acts as a humectant. It attracts moisture to your skin and actually helps keep it there.

Oats & Oatmeal are powerhouse skincare ingredients. They provide deep moisture, especially when ground, and can reduce irritants causing itching or swelling. They are recommended for treating eczema, sunburns, psoriasis and inflammation.

Panthenol (Pro-Vitamin B5) acts as another moisturizing ingredient that is also great for skin barrier restoration.

Phenohip is the light preservative we add to maintain the fresh quality of some of our products for their long lasting life in the shower.

Poly 20 (non-toxic emulsifier) - It is a naturally-derived but chemically processed surfactant used to bind oil-based and water-based ingredients together.

Pumice Powder is a naturally occurring exfoliant made of volcanic rock.

Rose Petal Powder adds a subtle blush and smoothness to some of our products, crafted from dried rose petals.

SCI (Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate) is a gentle, coconut oil based cleanser that is responsible for creating a rich, foamy lather that can help hair feel soft and smooth.

Sea Salt is great for your skin and helps with acne, circulation, exfoliation, natural oil balance, and restores your skin to its original PH. It also aids in muscle relaxation and offers a soothing comfort to joints and mind/body stress. We commonly used himalayan sea salt and black sea salt.

Shea Butter provides moisture and nourishes the skin. It is packed with vitamins A and E, and it deeply hydrates and protects skin.

SLSa (Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate) is a coconut oil based cleanser that removes dirt and excess oils without the harshness of traditional sulfates. It creates a luxurious lather while being skin-friendly, a synthetic compound derived from coconut and palm oils.

Sodium Percarbonate is an eco-friendly cleaning compound made from natural soda ash and hydrogen peroxide. It helps to remove stains, brighten clothing, and eliminate odors in our laundry powder.

Stearic Acid is a naturally occurring saturated fatty acid that is often derived from shea butter or coconut oil. It is used as a thickening ingredient, or a stabilizer and emulsifier. In skincare it helps to keep the product smooth and the texture silky, while locking in moisture and hydrating your skin.

Sugar gently exfoliates in our sugar scrub, leaving your skin soft and smelling great all day.

Sweet Almond Oil makes an excellent moisturizer for both the skin and hair, and it may even help prevent stretch marks and protect your skin from sun damage. It is rich in vitamins A and E, provides deep hydration and nourishment, leaving your skin soft and supple.

Green Coffee Bean Infused Sweet Almond Oil energizes and stimulates the skin, helping to reduce puffiness and dark circles. Green coffee beans for the most caffeine, sourced from our own "Ryan the Roaster" at Revival Coffee in Historic Downtown Selma, AL.
Calendula Infused Sweet Almond Oil - Organic calendula flowers from our own garden were carefully infused in sweet almond oil to create a potent, skin-loving blend. Calendula is renowned for its anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and healing properties, making it ideal for soothing irritated skin, reducing redness, and promoting faster healing of minor wounds and rashes.

Tapioca Starch comes from the cassava plant. We use it as a natural thickening agent and oil absorber that won’t clog pores or weigh down skin.

Titanium Dioxide is a naturally occurring compound mostly used for its white pigment. While it is also known to be a UV filter, we just use it to provide bright whites in some of our products.

Turmeric has anti-inflammatory properties that aid in brightening dark spots on your skin and reducing other blemishes.

Vegetable Glycerin, used in our sugar scrub, is a plant based humectant that draws moisture from the air into the skin's surface. It intensely hydrates and soothes dryness on rough areas, while not clogging pores.

Vitamin E protects against free radicals and promotes skin repair. It is a powerful antioxidant that helps to protect the skin from environmental damage.

Washing Soda (Sodium Carbonate) is a naturally occurring mineral compound that is often used in laundry powders because it softens water, effectively removes grease and stains, and naturally neutralizes lingering odors.

Witch Hazel is a natural astringent that reduces inflammation and irritation from acne, razor burn, insect bites, and more. It also shrinks pores and calm breakouts by removing sebum from the skin.

Zinc Ricinoleate, used in our deodorant, is added to fight bad odors instead of merely masking them with fragrance.
